Hotel review; Serenity Resort & Residences Phuket

For my husband’s birthday last month we decided to go out and explore the island. For that we wanted to stay overnight in a different location what we’re used to. After browsing several hotels online, we found Serenity Resort & Residences Phuket on the peaceful Southeastern corner of Phuket.

First Impression

We drove over to the resort stopping along the way for some delicious sushi lunch, before we went to check in to the hotel. The drive way was well secured and we after talking to the security guard, we temporarily parked the car in front of the reception. Check in was done promptly, and we were escorted to our room. The hotel has many parking spaces close to the rooms, and from there it’s a short walking distance to the room itself. A great first start for this short getaway.

Rooms

Serenity has several kind of rooms, from the basic Serenity room to the Pool Residence and the Penthouse Seaview suite. As we knew we would only be staying here for a short time, and we figured we would be more out of the room than in it, we opted for the Serenity Room. The room itself was spacious and had a small balcony on the side of the room. Unfortunately there was no sea view, but we were warned for this in advance. It was a good match for the purpose of our stay though.

If you are staying here for a longer time, I would opt for one of the bigger rooms, such as the Seaview Suites, which have great balconies overlooking the sea. The pool residence are right on the beach, with a lovely private pool, which is definitely amazing as well…

Restaurant & Bars

The resort offers one bar and one restaurant, situated on the left and the right side of the swimming pool. The areas are not huge, but big enough, and they share the F&B facilities well (with one kitchen and one bar preparing all the food and drinks on the menu).

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast was very extensive with loads of options, from bread with eggs and other spreads, to delicious pancakes and waffles. For lunch and dinner the restaurant offers a menu with Thai and Western options. The food was ok, but not super special. However the tuna steak is definitely a recommendation.

Other Services

The hotel offers a small gym, but it features all the popular machines you want to use during your vacation – plenty of treadmills, weights and other cardio equipment.

There is also the opportunity to get a Balance Fitness retreat at Atmanjai Wellness Spa, when staying at Serenity Phuket. It’s a short 4 min walk from the hotel, and the packages go from 3 days and up. When booking this package you will have access to activities including Thai Boxing, Yoga, Paddle training and many more.

Unfortunately we were unable to make use of the spa, as they were fully booked. But looking at the menu, and the reasonable prices they offered, I would have loved to try it out. Better luck next time!

Service standard

The hotel has a very tranquil set up, overlooking the east coast of the island. The staff were friendly and helped with a friendly Thai smile. During our stay we didn’t encounter any difficulties, and were pleasantly surprised by the high standard of service offered for such a relatively small resort.

Serenity Resort & Residences is an excellent option for a relaxing holiday, a vacation with friends, or a nice family vacation.
