Phuket Vegetarian Festival – Part I

The Phuket Vegetarian Festival is in full swing. Early morning today we headed out to Cherngtalay to see the procession. It reminded me a lot of the Thaipusam in Singapore, as people will pierce themselves as an act of faith. The coming days there are many more events that will take place for the Vegetarian Festival, and I’m planning to go and see some more. For now, take a look at the pictures that I snapped this morning. Starting with the procession to Surin Beach, something what I think would be prayers, and followed by heading back to Cherngtalay to see blessings on the street.

*** Please note that pictures made show people having piercings through their body and can be seen as disturbing…
