To live in a new country it’s always nice to have a community of like minded people surrounding you. That’s why I joined the Chicky Net website the moment I knew I was moving to Phuket. Chickynet is an online social network for women who have relocated to Thailand, or who are visiting Thailand regularly.
It was founded in Phuket in April 2009 by Dutch expat Berthe. Reason for setting it up was that she found it pretty difficult to meet other women in Thailand. Quickly it turned out that many people felt the same, which inspired her to expand the site to other locations around Thailand. Now you can find the social network in Phuket, Bangkok, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai and other locations.
I was very happy to find this website, as it’s an easy way of getting in touch with people and quickly finding information about my new home town. When an article was posted that Chicky Net was looking for people to volunteer, I was immediately excited!
It seemed to be that Chicky Net was expanding it’s site and offering several new services. Starting with a new blog on Expat Women in Thailand, and this is only the beginning – as I am sure many more exciting things will happen in the future of Chicky Net! Since the start of the blog I have become a contributor, writing about my life in Phuket.
Go on go take a look – I know you want to 🙂
